1. Why invest in Real Estate?
According to a new study by Dr. Mark Zandi, co founder of Economy.com, entitled Housing's Rising Contribution, " with the recent collapse in stock prices, housing has once again become the most significant asset on the household balance sheet." "Indeed," says the study, " the blow to consumers from the plunge in stock prices since early 2000 has been at least partially offset by the strong increases in house values and homeowner's equity during the same period. The value of households' stockholdings have fallen by nearly $4 trillion since 2000, but homeowners' equity has risen an estimated $1.5 trillion

3. 1031 Tax Free Exchange
A 1031 tax free exchange is simply a method by which a real property owner disposes of one property and acquires another without having to pay any capital gains tax on the transaction. In an ordinary sale transaction, the property owner is taxed on any gain realized by the sale of the property. In an exchange, the tax on the exchange is deferred indefinitely.

Mike Hinson, CPA, has two Masters' degrees in tax and finance and is thoroughly qualified to assist you with any 1031 tax free exchange transactions.
